The juvenile gang animeWind Breakerwill be returning soon, as it gets an official release date. Sakura and the Furin High gang will be serving more action-packed fights whenWind Breaker Season 2premieres on April 3.
The reveal came from a new trailer, featuring some bloody scenes from the upcoming season. The new trailer also shows a preview of the second season’s ending theme song “It’s myself” by shytaupe. Additionally, the anime’s official channels released a new key visual with the tagline “Don’t underestimate Bofurin!”.
About Wind Breaker
TheWind Breakeranime is an adaptation of Satorou Nii’s ongoing manga of the same name. It’s being published on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket website. The manga’s individual chapters have been compiled into 20 tankobon volumes, though the latest volumes are yet to be available in English. In 2023, Kodansha USA beganpublishing the manga in print.
The first season of the anime aired in April last year. It had 13 episodes, with its last episode airing in June 2024. As soon as the final episode of the first season aired, Season 2’s production was officially announced. Toshifumi Akai will continue to direct the series at the studio CloverWorks. He will be helped by Hiroshi Seko (series composition), Taishi Kawakami (character designs), and Ryo Takahashi (music).

Wind Breaker Season 1‘s synopsis on the streaming website is as follows:
“Welcome to Furin High School, an institution infamous for its population of brawny brutes who solve every conflict with a show of strength. Some of the students even formed a group, Bofurin, which protects the town. Haruka Sakura, a first-year student who moved in from out of town, is only interested in one thing: fighting his way to the top.”
