As you create yourDragon’s Dogma 2character, you’ll come across the naming screen. While you’ll find a spot for your regular character name, you’ll also see options for a moniker or secondary name, which comes into play if you have an inappropriate name.

What is a Moniker inDragon’s Dogma 2’scharacter creator?

Dragon’s Dogma 2monikers are character nicknames or secondary names you use if your initial chosen name is inappropriate or offensive. While having a regular, safe name won’t pose any issues, creating one the game’s system deems unsafe will cause your moniker to become your primary name instead. In other words, it’s intended as a parental control option to prevent others from seeing potentially unsafe names.

In the character creator, monikers are names you choose from a pre-existing list created by Capcom. While extensive, it doesn’t allow you to add names manually. What you see here is what you get to choose from.

How to change your name and Moniker inDragon’s Dogma 2

In the originalDragon’s Dogma, the Secret of Metamorphosis and Art of Metamorphosis items allowed you to edit your character and pawn. Secret of Metamorphosis costs 10,000 Rift Crystals, while Art costs 5,000. You could buy it once per playthrough from Johnathan at the Encampment Command Headquarters, and it allowed you to change your character once through a second instance of the character editor.

It’s unknown whetherDragon’s Dogma 2will feature the same or a similar feature to change your character’s name and appearance. However, if you’re unhappy with your name or moniker later in your playthrough, you may have this option to change it and continue with your save.
