Prime picks from Poland

With Krakow-basedDigital Dragonsunable to take place in May, the convention’s organizers still found a way to celebrate video games. Next week, Digital Dragons has a showcase on Steam that highlights 50 of the year’s best indie games.

We knew about the selections ahead of time because we were a part of the selection process. We were included as judges for Digital Dragons’ Indie Celebration, meaning that we spent the last couple weeks demoing nearly 200 games and helping whittle this list down to just 50. The judges are:Robert Purchese (Eurogamer), Brett Makedonski (Destructoid, that’s me!), Karol ZajÄ…czkowski (11bit studios), Jakub Rokosz (Fool’s Theory) and Jakub Wójcik (Indie Games Polska).

The Indie Celebration takes place May 13 through May 15 on Steam. There will be accompanying livestreams and interviews, the sort of promotion you’d expect from a digital showcase like this. Also, our judging isn’t done. Now we’re left to figure out which three games will take home the top prizes next week. May the best game(s) win.

Here are the 50 best submissions that are included in the Digital Dragons Indie Celebration:
