Mayor Lewis’ Purple Shorts have been a thing inStardew Valleysince the very beginning. At this point, they’re a fan favorite easter egg and have divided players between doing the right thing and, at worst, extorting the Mayor of Pelican Town.
Until now, once you picked up Mayor Lewis’ Lucky Purple Shorts in Marnie’s bedroom, you had a choice; you could either give them back to Mayor Lewis and save him the embarrassment of having his terribly hidden relationship with Marnie become even more talked about, or keep them for yourself.

What can you do with Purple Shorts inStardew Valley?
Why would you want to keep Mayor Lewis’ underpants for yourself? Well, you’re able to do a few things with them:
But now, you can give Mayor Lewis the shorts back and still experience all of these things, becauseupdate 1.6added a new way to get more Purple Shorts.

How to get more Purple Shorts inStardew Valley
to get more Purple Shorts, you’ll need to achieve a couple of things:
Once you’ve achieved these, make a Staircase using 99 Stone and then head to Mayor Lewis’ house. Go into his bedroom and place the Staircase down before interacting with it in order to descend into a new cellar area.

This area is filled with Barrels and other obstacles which form a maze, but if you look in the bottom left corner you’ll see a pair of Purple Shorts just lying there waiting to be taken. Make your way through the maze and then pick up the shorts, placing them in your inventory.
Once you’ve picked up the Purple Shorts, a floating and apparently very angry pair of Purple Shorts will appear towards the entrance to the cellar. You need to make your way back through the maze while avoiding these malevolent underpants because if they reach you they will attack and do a large amount of damage. I’d recommend taking some food with you just in case you need some quick healing.

Once you’ve escaped the cursed pants, make your way out of Lewis’ house and voila, you have more Lucky Purple Shorts. If you want to stockpile the item, and I’m not sure why you would but to each their own, you can repeat this process as many times as you like.
