From the Dreamfall developer — it looks great

Last Halloween, Red Thread Games, the developer ofDreamfall Chapters, the sequel to beloved adventure gamesThe Longest JourneyandDreamfall: The Longest Journey, announced it was also working on a survival horror game,Draugen.

And now we have some nice, atmospheric footage of the 2015 release. My excitement remains at the level it was when this was first announced, still, particularly, for its premise: “a first-person survival horror adventure amongst the mountains and fjords of the Norwegian west coast in the 1920s.

“Draugen (Norwegian; meaning ‘the Draug’) is an undead creature from Norse mythology. The original Norse meaning of the word is ghost, but unlike traditional ghosts the Draug has a corporeal body and physical abilities. Draug reside in their watery graves, guarding the treasures and secrets that were buried with them. And they will protect those secrets at any cost.”

Heck yes. “It’s HP Lovecraft meets Dostoyevsky,” Red Thread’s Ragnar Tornquist Tornquist toldEurogamer, “OrGone HomemeetsAmnesia.”
