It seems as if Segahas renewed the trademarkforSkies of Arcadia, meaning it could be ripe for an HD re-release (or even a sequel) sometime in the near future.ConsideringSkiesis one of SEGA’s most requested HD remakesoutside ofShenmue, this could easily be a possibility for the JRPG that had its humble beginnings on the Dreamcast in 2000.
For many, many years,Skies of Arcadiawas my favorite video game. In fact, the day Xbox Live debuted on the original Xbox, I reserved the Gamertag “BlueRogue.” Maybe it’s just because I’m a sucker for floating islands, or perhaps it was because the game itself was pretty incredible, and offered one of the best gaming experiences ever in terms of exploration.

If they tone down the random battle rate even more-so than they did in the GameCube version, everyone who is even remotely interested in JRPGs should pick this up, as I can’t really identify any other major flaws withSkies of Arcadia: it’s a classic.
