If you haven’t been thoroughly impressed by the destructible environments found in this generation of games so far, the mere mention of a technologically advanced, high-defRed Factionmight put a menacing smile on your face.
Rumors have been flying left and right aboutRed Faction: Guerrilla, but it wasn’t until today that THQ officially announced the third title in the destruction-based shooter series. Unlike the previous games, however,RF: Gis a third-person shooter (phew!).
Speaking about Volition’s latest project,Brad Carraway, thedirector of global brand management for THQ, had this to say:“With the game’s unique pairing of true physics-based destruction, fast-paced guerrilla warfare style combat, and a massive world to explore –Red Faction: Guerrillawill redefine the limits of open-world gaming.”
Now if only we had some in-game footage to back all of that up. For the time being, I’m pumped.Red Faction: Guerrillais coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in 2009. Anybody else excited?
