Dragon’s Dogma 2is now out andabsolutely rocks. Still, even though it’s one of the most straightforward RPG mechanics-wise out there right now, some of its systems, like thePawn System, might confuse players a bit.

Even if you already have pawns all figured out, please be aware that the proper use of some seemingly simple items, such as the camping kits, might be eluding you. I’m sorry if this sounds ludicrous but I assure you that this is an issue that might seriously hinder your experience with the game, so let’s look into it.

Campsite in dragon’s dogma 2

Camping kits in Dragon’s Dogma 2 are not traditional consumables

First things first, all gamers are immediately excused for misunderstanding campsites inDragon’s Dogma. So many years of consuming tents inFinal Fantasygames might have distorted our view of reality, but whether we’re talkingDragon’s Dogma 2or real life, tents are not for human or pawn consumption.

It might seem like I’m joking around but you’d be surprised at how many people in the community are stacking up camping kits as if the Arisen and their pawns have to eat them whole as soon as they’re done sleeping.

Since this is Twitter, you’d expect the replies to be filled with smarter but not nicer gamers making fun of this person for not understanding camping kits inDragon’s Dogma 2. They aren’t. The replies are mostly just a bunch of people also realizing that yep, camping kits don’t go away after you use them. This is a problem because these kits have weight, and the weight capacity is alimited and valuable resource inDragon’s Dogma 2.

Camping kits in Dragon’s Dogma 2 can still technically get used up

To be clear, you only really need one camping kit — two if you want to be extra careful. That’s because even though they don’t go away upon use, they can be destroyed if your camp gets attacked. Still, I don’t think I’d bother too much acquiring camping kits isn’t too difficult in this game — hence people having too many. The best way to prolong the lifespan of your camping kits is by clearing the vicinity of your campsite of enemies.

Another camping kit-related problem that the community has warned could go under the radar has to do with the pawns. Since camping kits have weight, some players choose to have their non-main pawns carrying them. This can cause a problem because if you happen to replace the pawn who’s working as your personal camping kit bank, your camping stuff will be transferred to your storage, which you might not have easy access to right away. Be mindful of that, even if you want to ensure your pawns have a place to sleep once you fire them, which is kinda nice of you.
