If you’re aFinal Fantasy XIVplayer wanting to get ahead of the queues onceDawntrailgoes live, there’s no need to wait until June 28 to download all the data for the expansion. It’s available to download now, at least on PC.

If you’re looking to avoid spoilers too, now might be the time to turn away from the internet for the next couple of days. With the patch being live for download, this also means that dataminers can dive in and get the information before regular players.

Joyful for download in Final Fantasy XIV

If you playFinal Fantasy XIVthrough the official client, downloading the expansion is easy. All you need to do is launch the launcher, and allow it to update itself. Once done, log in as you usually would and the expansion will begin to download. How long this takes will depend on your internet connection and download speed.

You won’t be able to play, of course, until June 28 whenDawntrailreleases for its early access period. The “Play” button will be grayed out and unavailable. However, downloading now means that you’re all set up and ready to go, giving yourself time to relax knowing that there’s nothing else that can be done.
