According to the article, the systems “could be used to send or receive radio signals with its built-in Wi-Fi and connectivity features”, thus allowing the inmates to send coded messages to the outside, plan gang activity, or call fifteen year old kids f**-n*****s.
Why one would even have to make this decision makes my head hurt. There was actually a point at which they were considering giving their imprisoned felons the latest in home gaming technology? Sure, I suppose handing someone a system rich with technological prowess, yet lacking in worthwhile games is akindof punishment, but couldn’t they just stick to the old, proven methods, like tazering, and shanking chaps in the yard?
