It goes through the weekend

Anyone with an Xbox One and an internet connection can playRocket Leaguefor free right now. It’s not as innocent of a proposition as it sounds, though; one hit is enough to get you hooked on Psyonix’s wildly addictive (and successful) car soccer game.

If that isn’t a deterrent, go ahead and download afree version ofRocket Leagueand see what all the fuss is about. The event runs through Sunday, so there’s plenty of time to start theascent from rookie to all-star. If you find yourself enamored enough, it’s also mildly discounted from $20 down to $18.

And, this is about as free as these things get because Microsoft is also holding a free Xbox multiplayer weekend right now. That means that you don’t even need to have an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play. However, it is worth noting that you will need Gold if you decide to buy the game to play beyond Sunday. But, let’s not fret about that yet; let’s lose ourselves in the weekend.
