Put the two together and you have the next Nintendo DS RPG. 1UPhas some details from Famitsu on the action RPG: Players select from one of seven characters, fighting against enemies called “The Visitors.” You can assign different attacks onto the four buttons to use strategically during battle....

Let me tell you a tale… Square Enix has announced that its ensemble RPGOctopath Travelerhas achieved an impressive 2.5 million global shipments and sales to date. The character-driven adventure game first launched on Nintendo Switch in the summer of 2018, before ported to PC a year later and the Stadia service in April 2020. Octopath Traveleris a narrative-heavy RPG that follows the journey of an ensemble cast of characters. Rather than playing as one protagonist on a typical adventure, the player bounces between a selection of distinct individuals, whose stories tend to overlap as they face up to their respective quests and hardships....

A new mid-range solution It’s no secret that virtual reality has had a tough go of it trying to make its way into the modern home. Most headsets on the market are either too expensive or too low quality. Oculus has a new product that hopes to split the difference. TheOculus Gowas announced at the Oculus Connect 4 keynote today. It’s an “all-in-one” wireless headset that’s priced at $200. Unlike Gear VR, the Go won’t require a smartphone; everything’s running off the hardware that’s in the headset....

’90s-riffic If you were an old school PC gamer in the ’90s, you rememberRaptor. It was a really rad shoot-’em-up that had a heavy emphasis on upgrades, allowing you to slowly enhance your plane over the course of 27 levels. It was a fully featured shmup for the time, especially since a number of eastern shooters only featured a handful of arcade levels with no room for an experience system. If you want to relive the magic you cando so with the 2015 Edition on Steam for $4....

I’ve never been so taken aback by the level of dedication present in a game-to-movie adaptation. The trailer for theAce Attorneyfilm justisthefirstAce Attorneygame. Giant red afros on Japanese ladies, full body possession, foggy murders on boats; it’s all here. There are even evidence-tossing attacks. The movie looks completelyperfect. I should have expected no less from the great Takashi Miike, part timeNo More Heroes 2character and director ofAudition,Yatterman,Yakuza, and countless other modern surrealist classics....

Beasts in the Bayou Two trailers into the Xbox showcase and I’m already tired of reading the words “In-Engine Footage.” We saw it in theFabletrailer and we saw it inSouth of Midnight, the upcoming title from Compulsion Games.
