Some positive news!
It seems like we’ve been hearing nothing butstudio closershappening left and right. Well there’s some good news in this field as Namco Bandai is opening up a new studio in Vancouver, Canada. TheBritish Columbia Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Trainingwebsite made the announcement, and the studio is expected to open this June with a focus on developing online social games.
This is good news for the city of Vancouver, as therewas quite the exodusof Vancouver-based studios recently lured away to Toronto, Canada instead.
Namco is also set to open up a new studio over in Singapore in June, but no details were given on what this studio’s focus will be.
I know, not the most exciting news but I wanted to share something positive in this aspect amidst the seemingly bleak state of the industry.
