Hamster and Taito have announced that the next game for theArcade Archivesis 1992’sDinoRex. The title was initially part of theTaito Milestones 2collection, but on November 16, it will be available separately.

As someone who appreciateskusoge, I loved theTaito Milestones 2collection because it contained a bunch of terrible games amongst its gems.DinoRexwas the one that captivated me the most because it is just so, so bad. It sort of feels like a bad attempt atPrimal Rage. You control a cave guy who orders a dinosaur to fight other dinosaurs. Big, chubby dinosaurs who look like they were ripped from 1933’sKing Kong. Little harmless-looking toy dinosaurs.

DinoRex

It controls like absolute butt, which kind of adds to the charm. But on top of that, if your dinosaurs get really into it, there’s a bunch of fun level destruction. Then, there are bonus dream vignettes where your dinosaur lives out their fantasy of stomping around in modern cities. It is absolutelyincredible.

I’m not saying it’s good, but if you also appreciate playing crappy games,DinoRexis top-tier. I cannot express how amazingly awful this game is, and I really think you should check it out for yourself.
