The savage bug-like creature has pretty solid stats all around but can carry an extreme amount of weight. However, the creature is trickier to capture compared to others. Where to find a Rhyniognatha inARK: Survival Ascended
The massive bugs, or Rhyniognatha’s , can be a bit tricky to find. Primarily found in the swamp, if you look around in the swampland around the central mountain you are sure to find some. If you look at the map above, the red-marked area indicates the best spot to find a Rhyniognatha.
Even though they are primarily found in the swampland, you can sometimes find them buzzing about on the other side of the mountain, near the river. However, the absolute best place is still around the swampland and should always be the first place you check.
Rhyniognatha Taming Guide
Unlike other creatures and dinosaurs inARK: Survival Ascended, you can’t just knock out a Rhyniognatha and pump it full of Naroberries or Narcotics. The Rhyniognatha has a very unique process for taming it.
First, you need to actually kill a Rhyniognatha. I know what you’re thinking: but wait, how can I tame it if I kill it? Just trust me.
You’re looking for a Rhyniognatha Pheremone, which you loot off the dead body of a Rhyniognatha. Once you’ve acquired one, you need to transfer the Rhyniognatha Phermone into the inventory space of a large dino. This will cause the dinosaur to eat it.
Next, you need to find a female Rhyniognatha and attack it. Continue attacking it until you get its health under 10%. The female will be attracted to the Phermone and impregnate the dino and inject something into it.
Finally, just keep giving the large dino the food it’s asking for so it keeps eating, which will feed the creature now growing inside of the large dino. Eventually, your Rhyniognatha will be born and burst through the large dino!
