Developer Respawn Entertainment announced that this first Battle Pass for the season would be free inApex Legendsafter themassive backlash from fanswhen it was initially revealed that Battle Passes could no longer be purchased using Apex Coins.
For now, it looks like there will still be two Battle Passes with every season, but you’ll be able to earn enough Apex Coins from the first Battle Pass to unlock the second one. There should also be enough Apex Coins in that second Battle Pass to see you through the next season’s Battle Passes and so on.

This system has allowedApex Legendsplayers to pay for a Battle Pass once, and, provided they complete the Battle Pass, they can avoid paying for another one until they miss earning enough Apex Coins. This has been part of the game since it was initially released, so it’s understandable that fans didn’t like it when the developer wanted to change things.
