That includes new Pals to add to your Paldeck, like Sootseer. This spooky, fiery, ghostly Pal is ready to be caught and added to your collection if you can get them. Have no fear, we’re here to show you how to get Sootseer.
Where to find Sootseer in Palworld
Sootseer can only be found on the new island of Sakurajima, specifically at the Secluded Cemetery. This is nestled right between the Dancing Sakura Shrine and the edge of the Northern Rock Field.
It’s important to note that you can only find Sootseers at nighttime, as they are nocturnal. If you go to their location during the day, you’ll need to wait. Use the Secluded Cemetery Fast Travel point to get there quickly if you have it unlocked.
You can see the exact location marked on the map below. ThisSakurajima Palis pretty rare, so don’t get discouraged if you don’t find them right away.
How to catch Sootseer in Sakurajima Update
Sootseer can be caught the same as all other Pals, by bringing its health down as low as possible and throwing a Pal Sphere at it. Sootseer is strong when it comes to combat, so you’ll need a good Pal to fight it.
Sootseer is both a Fire and Dark-type Pal, so it is weak to Water-types and Dragon-types. The best Pal for this battle is Jormuntide, as they are both a Water and Dragon-type and is top tier when it comes to combat. However, both Elphidran Aqua and Relaxaurus can also get the job done.
Since Sootseer isn’t easy to get, I recommend using an advanced Pal Sphere like anUltimate Sphereto guarantee you’ll catch them.
If you don’t feel like fighting, you can also hatch a Sootseer from a Large Dark Egg using an Egg Incubator. However, there’s no guarantee you’ll hatch a Sootseer instead of another Dark-type Pal, so this method typically takes longer.
Sootseer Type, Work Suitability, and Base Stats
As mentioned above, Sootseer is a Fire and Dark-type Pal, so they’re strong against Grass and Neutral-type Pals and weak against Water and Dragon-types. They have plenty of work suitabilities, including:
Sootseer has a base HP of 105, a base Attack of 125, and a base Defense of 90. While their Defense isn’t anything special, their base Attack is one of the highest in the game. This makes them a solid Pal for combat, and one of the highest base tier Pals you’re able to find.
