TheFriday the 13thgameannounced back in Januaryhas been fully revealed — it’s the game formerly known asSlasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp, byBreach and Cleardevelopers Gun Media. With the help of TV’s Adam Sessler, the team hasgone to Kickstarterin the hopes of securing $700,000 for the project.

Friday the 13this set to be an asymmetrical one-versus-seven multiplayer game, where one player controls masked killer Jason Voorhees and seven other players control the camp counselors best known for having machetes and other sharp objects put inside of their vital organs.

The game boasts the involvement of Kane Hodder, the man who played Jason inFriday the 13th 7-10, and Sean S. Cunningham, the creator ofFriday the 13th. Hodder will be the motion capture artist for Jason, in addition to directing the motion capture work for other characters. Cunningham gifted the team the license, and will provide “direction and thematic support.”

“We’ve been talking aboutFriday the 13thgames for 20 years, and there was never a particularly good idea. As luck would have it, we pulled it together, and here we are!” Cunningham said in the official Kickstarter video.

The game will retain the involvement of Harry Manfredini, the man who composed the iconicFriday the 13thsoundtrack, and Tom Savini, a well-known special effects artist.

Just to clear up any confusion,Friday the 13thisnotLast Year, another ’80s slasher-themed asymmetrical multiplayer Kickstarter.Last Yearoriginally featured a killer similar to Jason, whichwas changedat the request of theFriday the 13thdevelopers.
