We’re excited to bring you word today of an interesting new DS title in the works from THQ and developer 5th Cell, slated for release this fall. InDrawn to Life, players will “help save a distant village from the shadow-like evil that has covered it in darkness.” Sounds like pretty standard stuff for an action RPG, until you factor in that you’ll be drawing your very own custom hero to play through it with.

Using your stylus and the game’s “robust drawing tool,” you’ll get to choose from an assortment of colors, brush types and stamps to create a unique character based on one of four different hero templates. If that isn’t freedom enough for you, you’ll also get to draw your own weapons, items, tools, and even the animals that will inhabit the forests, fields and tropical island settings you’ll battle through on your quest.

Cooler still is a feature that allows players to trade their creations with friends using the DS’s Wi-Fi functionality, which is sure to result in people devising all sorts of horrifying abominations against nature. This time around, if the graphics suck, you’ve got no one to blame but yourself. Let’s just hope character strength isn’t based on artistic ability, otherwise.Tiffwill be kicking all of our asses. We’ll keep you updated with new details as they become available between now and the game’s sheduled release date of September 28th.
