Note: I do really, really love Pokemon

Oh lordy I can feel something growing inside of me. An urge, buried deep for over ten years now that must spring forth:Digimonwas way better thanPokemon. Sure, thePokemongames were great and I love them dearly, but when you compare the anime we all knew whoreallystood out on top, and it sure as fuck wasn’t Ash Ketchum.

Well, it looks likeDigimonwill be returning to Western consoles soon as well, with the announcement of a localisation forDigimon Story Cyber Sleuthat Anime Expo 2015 by Bandai Namco, due for release in 2016 on the PlayStation 4 and digitally (heh) on the PS Vita.

The game tells the story of the near future, where “the line between the real and digital worlds is blurred,” and “logging into Cyberspace is part of everyday life.” They say that as if it isn’t what happens right now in 2015 already, but let’s just roll with it. There’s a very non-descriptive trailer up top for you too. Pretty, but it tells us pretty much jack shit about the game.

There’s been a bit of aDigimonresurgence of late, due in part to 2015 being the 15thanniversary of the franchise. We’ll also probably hear more about the upcomingDigimon Adventure Trianime at the Expo, which sees the return of the original cast from the very first series. Consider me excited, I freaking loveDigimon.
