We’re not far off from the release ofDead Island 2, which means it’s probably a good time to know if your rig can handle it. Dambuster Studios hasput out a list of PC system requirementsfor the upcoming zombie action game, as well as an FAQ to address some common questions ahead of launch on April 21.
On the PC side, it looks like you’ll need a decently modern rig to play at the recommended 1080p / 60 FPS settings. That entails either an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X or Intel Core i9 9900K CPU, as well as an AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT or GeForce RTX 2070 Super. Keep sliding on up to 1440p or 4K, and the requirements get even heftier.

While the minimum memory requirement is 10 GB, everything above a base 1080p / 30 FPS experience will need 16 GB. And across the board, you’ll need 70 GB of hard drive space available. A decent chunk, thoughthankfully lessthan some other games coming soon. Here’s the full breakdown, by each specification:
Resolution/FPS:1080p / 30 FPS

CPU:AMD Ryzen 5 5600X / Intel Core i9 9900K
CPU:AMD Ryzen 7 7700X / Intel Core i5-12600KF

Storage:70 GB available
The requirements page also outlines a few other key points. Namely, there isno crossplayforDead Island 2, so buy this where your friends are. There is multiplayer with up to three players. It’s also apparently cross-gen, though what that means in detail has yet to unveiled.
Wegot a chance to go hands-onwithDead Island 2recently at PAX East, and found it to largely be, well, moreDead Island. I know that’s not really a revelation or anything, but there’s a part of me that’s amazed we’re seeing this game launch. It’s been in development for ages, and soon, those years of trailers and mentions will finally come home to roost.Dead Island 2goes live on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on April 21.
