Videogames are a part of everyday culture more so than they have ever been. They’re part of TV shows, art works, (horrible) movies are made about them and you see games just about everywhere. Yet as big as they are now, there was a time when the gaming industry almost died.

There’s never been a proper documentary on the whole rich history of gaming’s start, but Director Davide Agosta and Lorenzo Faggi look to fix that in a five part documentary series called 8 Bit Generation. In the teaser on Lorenzo’s Vimeo page, we hear from legendary gaming veterans such as Ralph Baer, Steve Russell, Al Alcorn, Nolan Bushnell as they describe how fast the gaming scene exploded.

The description page doesn’t detail when exactly the documentary will be released so we’ll just have to keep aneye on the Vimeo pagefor any updates. Five 60-minute documentaries are a bit long, but I’m actually looking forward to soaking up the history games.
