Radical Heights seems to be hemorrhaging players

Sacred Citadel has RPG elements in it

Level up and find loot Sacred Citadelis going to be a side-scrolling brawler with “crazy co-op” and now Deep Silver has released more about how the game will feature a lot of role-playing elements. Characters will level up, learn new abilities, find loot, visit towns, and fight orcs. To me this doesn’t sound like a game with “role-playing elements” — it sounds like a role-playing game with “side-scrolling brawler elements.”...

Sonic 4 at the J-Pop Summit Festival (Also: toilet)

This past weekend, Ben, Tara, and I took a little Destructoid field trip to the 2010 J-Pop Summit Festival in Japantown, San Francisco. We got a chance to check out SEGA’s latest offerings ofSonic The Hedgehog 4andSonic Colors,as well as a bunch of awesomely weird Japanese pop-culture related stuff. We didn’t interview any celebrities this time around, but at least we remembered the microphone cable. We also got to play with one of those fancy, space-age Japanese toilets, and subsequently got things squirted at us....

The Xbox One could’ve released without a disc drive

Game file sizes proved too high for Microsoft In the what-if scenario of the day, Microsoft Studios head Phil Spencer tellsOXMthat the company considered making the Xbox One a “purely disc-less console.” Another forward-looking idea for the system that didn’t pan out, then. Probably for the best. “There was a real discussion about whether we should have an optical disc drive in Xbox One or if we could get away with a purely disc-less console, but when you start looking at bandwidth and game size, it does create issues,” he commented....
