The Core! Wait, what did Microsoft say about the Xbone?

It has wings and can fly?! I seriously don’t understand Microsoft’s angle leading up to the launch of the Xbone. At this point in the game (PUNS) I feel like we should have a pretty good handle on what the system is and where it’s going. Microsoft seems to disagree so we’ll be running through all of their newest announcements today on the Core! Don’t know what the Core is? The Core is Dtoid’s brand new news/editorial show that is live every Tuesday and Thursday at 3pm pst onDtoid....

Haha, PSN and Xbox Live According to a statementfrom Valve’s Erik Johnson, the company has no plans to introduce ads to Steam anytime soon. Johnson notes that they’d rather focus on “long-term relationships,” and that ad programs just cost money and create a negative value for consumers. He goes on to say, “It would be a bad business decision, let alone just dumb.” As of now Valve is servicing 125 million users and doesn’t charge them to play online, so they’re doing something right....

Battlefield 4 gameplay shown in full 60 frames per second

This game looks beautiful Battlefield 4was shown off at Microsoft’s E3 press conference today, in full 60 frames per second goodness. The live demo opened up inside a battleship with some of the best shadow and lighting effects I have ever seen. The ship then ripped in half while the player was still inside of it, rivaling the set pieces seen inUncharted. The action moved to the partially sunken half of the ship, and then into the sea where the player had to swim to a boat to take the fight on the sea....

Destiny moving to a more ‘event-based model,’ no more ‘monolithic DLC packs’

Uh…no Once again Bungie has flip-flopped on how it’s handlingDestinygoing forward. In the past, it was rumored the developer was giving up on large-scale DLC packs, which was shot down, noting that it was going to focus on both. Now it sounds like the big DLCs are outagain, as Bungie’s Derek Carroll has stated to Eurogamer that they are “moving to a more event-based model.” When asked about DLC packs, Carroll noted that “Rather than doing these giant, monolithic DLC packs [we’re moving to events], this way everybody who’s an owner of Taken King can enjoy these things....
