So there’s a blog on videogame foliage

Finally! Er… wait The good folks atGiant Bomblinked us to this fascinating blog on game foliage.Alex Swaim’sVideo Game Foliageis my newest Tumblr follow because it’s so weird and specific that I’ll always want to hear what he has to say. A visual FX programmer by day, Swaim gets really close in with game plants to see how they’re made. Not ironically, either — he really digs this stuff. For example, Swaim guesses that there are more polygons in thegrass and flowers in the Northern Undead Asylum ofDark Soulsthan there are in the surrounding rocks and tombstones....

Square Enix goes scary with upcoming DS title The Game With No Name

I certainly don’t rely on Square-Enix for my dose of creepy, but if they can execute their successful formula within a new genre, we may have something to get excited about here. The recently announced game is calledGeemu no Nanatsu DS(The Game With No Name) and will come out in Japan on July 3rd. I’m honestly not so sure we can expect this title to make it to the states, as horror games are more popular in Japan than they are here, but since there are few portable horror titles on the American market I think it would certainly be welcome....

The Order: 1886 collector’s edition is unboxed, under fire

Take cover, Galahad! Third-person shooter protagonists spend a bulk of their time glued to chest-high walls, so it’s fitting that the highlight ofThe Order: 1886‘s collector’s edition depicts this very action. In this unboxing video that PlayStation threw together, a statue of Galahad under fire is the main attraction, alongside a steel case, some DLC, stickers, and the game itself. The biggest surprise comes from not what’s inside the box, but the relatively reasonable price tag....
