From the Console to the TV Station: Part 1

A while back, I wrote about two of my favorite subjects combined:videogames and cereal. Now I want to take you through another avenue of pop culture history that will help to complete the trifecta of the things that, for over 20 years, have made gamer children’s days brighter; heck, adults love ’em too! I’m talking about the marriage of television shows, namely cartoons, with videogames. There really is nothing better to go along with a big bowl of game themed cereal than a morning block filled with game themed programming....

That’s right, it’s just about time for overwhelming consumerism to kick in, as the masses flood the malls for Black Friday and the holidayshopping season. Every year, Black Friday ads leak early, and it looks like GameStop’s was one of the first this year....

How to get King’s Rock in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

I wanna rock Longtime fans know the King’s Rock is a special item inPokemon. On its own, it grants the Pokemon holding it a chance to make the enemy flinch with each attack. This is handy enough, but the King’s Rock also allows Slowpoke to evolve into Slowking if it is traded while holding one. This is the only way to get Slowking in-game without hoping to encounter it in a 5 Star or 6 Star Tera Raid Battle, so sooner than later you’ll want one....

Lamentum, a pixelated survival horror game, is my exact jam

I think Occams would agree I’ve made it no secret that while horror is my definite jam, I’m a gigantic wiener and don’t play nearly as many horror games as I should/would like to. A weak constitution mixed with anxiety prevents me from enjoying the genre like I would. Still, that doesn’t mean I can’t share cool stuff when I happen upon it. Lamentumis that very type of “cool stuff.”...

Miyamoto claims the GameCube made him ‘sad’

If there’s one thing I sense from Nintendo this generation, it’s that they love to sit back and preen themselves, pretending the Wii wasn’t an accidental success story, that they planned it all along, and now they’re better than everyone else in the world. Don’t get me wrong, Nintendo’s marketing since the Wii caught on has been amazing, but statements likeMiyamoto’s latestjust drip in self-satisfied smugness. “The more we competed with new companies entering the market, the more we started acting similar to them,” claims Miyamoto, probably wanking himself off and sighing with utter self-love as he spoke....
