EA rolls out new patch The latest Battlefield 4 patch rolls out today. Consequently, the multiplayer servers will be offline for up to an hour on each platform. The PC version rolls out at 08.00 UTC, PlayStation 4 09.00 UTC, Xbox One 10.00 UTC, PlayStation 3 11.00 UTC, and Xbox 360 12.00 UTC. The Legacy Operations DLC– which adds the remake of Dragon Valley – will also be available later… well, on current-gen and PC, anyway....

Ahead of a report on its earnings for the 2024 fiscal year, Capcom has revised its earnings forecast thanks to strong sales across its catalog of games, in particular highlightingDragon’s Dogma 2. Inan April 25 press release, Capcom announced it had raised its net sales forecast for the 2024 fiscal year (which covers April 2023 through to March 2024) by 8.9%. It originally estimated it would make 140,000 million yen (tantamount to just under $900 million) in sales, but has now updated it to 152,400 million yen (about $979 million)....

To coincide with Season 2 Fortnite‘s Battle Royale mode continues to grow into its own game basically, as Epic launches patch 1.11 and heads into Season 2 and the new winter event. This new season will bring the “Battle Pass” concept with it, which includes cosmetic items with an instant unlock, and an additional “level-up” system that grants more loot. Season 2 will run through February 20. Other optimizations are in tow like framerate enhancements, as well as bug fixes and some other minor balance changes....

The spooks of battle bay Epic Games has released details of its plans forFortnite’sHalloween-themed event,Fortnitemares,bringing PvE elements, new weapons and challenges to the battle royale phenomenon. Fortnitemares, (or the much less interestingly titles “Update 6.20”), will dot the battlefield with zombies, or “Cube Monsters” to add an extra element of danger to an already pretty hazardous environment. Wacky new aesthetics include rocket launchers firing pumpkins, and new weapons in the form of the Hunter’s Fiend Crossbow and an old western style six-shooter....

Say hello to my not-so-little friend Going by the towering monsters and robots gracingGoliath‘s menu screen, you’d be forgiven for thinking Whalebox’s upcoming game involved clashes between sky-scraping beast. In truth, the game’s scale is a little moreTitanfallthanEvangelion, with the titular Goliaths “merely” being house-sized and thereabouts. Still, after some time with a pre-release beta build, I’m thinking that with some needed polish under its belt, the game could be compelling enough to let some of its big ideas loom large....
