George R.R. Martin’s critically acclaimed (and totally awesome) “‘A Song of Ice and Fire” series will be hitting consoles and PCs in the future. This afternoon French developer Cyanide (Blood Bowl,Pro Rugby Manager) announced that they acquired the “interactive rights” to the series and will be delivering more than one videogame based on Martin’s gritty-ass books. The quotes in the press release (available after the break) are mildly reassuring. Patrick Pligersdorffer, Cyanide’s managing director, offered verbal praise for Martin’s work and indicated that the integrity of “A Song of Ice and Fire” would be left intact....

Mhmm WhenBloodbornearrives next year on the PS4, it will clock in at 30 frames per second. This is apparently because that rate is the “best” for action games, according to producer Masaaki Yamagiwa. In an interview withPlayStation Lifestyle, the developer noted that From Software “weren’t targeting 60fps because it’s not first-person shooting, it’s an action game.” As someone who has been playing action games for about two decades, I can safely say that 30fps experiences are completely manageable, but I’d of course prefer a slightly worse looking game for that silky 60fps lock....
