Glare is a pretty indie platformer starring a sun god

Disappointed mother used ‘glare.’ It was super effective! Phobic Studios’Glarelooks like an interesting venture, as far as indie platformers go. It’s a bit of a dual weapon twin stick shooter tacked onto theMega Manformula. Instead of jumping around like a madman to evade enemies you come across, you can stand your ground and shoo them away with your mean glare, letting you then take pot shots at them. You also have some sort of sun god main character with super saiyan hair on the body of something close toBastion‘s main character....

Heck yes, Knights and Bikes is happening

Funded with a couple of days left to go I should’ve taken Darren’s advice. He told us towatch the pitch videoforKnights and Bikes, an action-RPG from some of the talented folks behindTearawayandRatchet and Clank, but instead I only read a bit, then glanced at a few (rather wonderful) screenshots and gifs. Bad move. Now that the game hassecured fundingthrough Kickstarter for a release on Windows, Mac, and PS4, I’ve gone back for another look, and I’m even more impressed the second time around....

Heroes of the Storm’s XP bonus event is boosted this week

Up to 50% Blizzard was holding a launch event forHeroes of the Storm, where players would net an extra 25% extra experience boost for playing the week of release. Now, the publisher is upping the stakes with a 50% boost from June 9 until 11:59 PM PST on June 15. In other news, Tyrande and Gazlowe are on sale this week for half off. I recommend picking up the former, as she’s a pretty useful ranged character that also has a small heal at her disposal....

Zelda Echoes of Wisdom Link Boss #1 Guide Your first encounter with Link happensabout midway through Suthorn Temple. How to complete the A Devilishly Delicious Dish quest in Octopath Traveler 2

The rewards are worth the effort A Devilishly Delicious Dish is a quest that is accessible near the beginning ofOctopath Traveler 2. In the New Delsta tavern, you’ll spot a Tavern Cook who is looking to prepare a new dish to attract customers. He suggests making something with the “Delsta Devil,” which is located in a cave east of the city. This sounds easy enough, but early game players should exercise caution before giving this cook what he needs....

Initiation station: The power of persona

[This time on thebloggers wantedtopic, we stretch the bounds of character creation to its limit for something interestingly personal. Blaze muses about the ultimate character creation: her online persona on Destructoid, through the ups, downs, and reinvention since her former time as KyWii. Crazy right? ~Strider] Who are you? Who, who, who, who??? The fun thing about going online and playing video games, as Pixie pointed out in her call to arms this month, is that we can be anyone we want to be when it comes to character customization....

It Came from Japan! King of Demons

[It Came from Japan!is a series where I seek out and review the weirdest, most original and enjoyable titles that never left the Land of the Rising Sun. For the month of October, the series will focus on games that may make you spook a poop.] Games with dark, satanic overtones weren’t exactly Nintendo’s bag. So, there should be no surprise in reading that a Super Famicom game, which roughly translates toKing of Demons, never came West....

Nintendo had a very successful December in the UK

30% of all game sales were for Nintendo devices Although Nintendo have admitted themselves that winter is their most profitable season, the U.K. market has always been one of their lower-drawing demographics when compared to Japan and America.
